Pattern and Fabric Pairing Feature: Sewing up Sunny Isle with HoneyDew Kisses Seraphina

I am in LOOOVE with the pics for today's blog post... just to warn you - there are a lot of pictures... but Cheek's was really earning her handful of mini marshmallows!

Today's pattern is the Honeydew Kisses Seraphina pattern Click here to check it out!

The pattern went together great out of the printer and was a quick cut, Sewing time was pretty good since I chose the solid front bodice option (vs. the pintuck bodice option) and I did a single skirt instead of the double skirt option. I'd say it went together in under 2hrs.

Cheeks: "When I grow up I want to be a boss with a pet triceratops"

The oversized peter pan collar almost makes it look cap sleeve, so I'm totally counting this as a winner for back to school clothing!

The back is button (or you can use snaps) and I LOVE the big sash! There is a pattern option to have a sash sewn to the front as well - but I really wanted to show off this GORGEOUS Jennifer Paganelli Sunny Isle from Freespirit Fabrics.

Something I REALLLY love and want to show you (and if you follow me on IG you've already seen this next pic) is how tidy the finishing is! Look at that gorgeous bias bound neckline! The skirt is french seams as well!

The size range for the Seraphina is 12m-12yrs, so you can get a lot of wear out of the pattern and it also has tunic length options as well as dress.

I added a little lace to the front to add some visual interest to the bodice and compliment the floral.

Everything in this pattern is about details! I just love the topstitching everywhere for a clean finished look. You can;t get these details from big box shops!

I'd love to hear from you!
  • What do you pay your kids in to take pictures?
  • Any ideas on which pattern I should feature next?
  • What is your kid/s "when I grow up I want to be..." ?

Sunshine here I am!

I tried out the patterns for Pirates Sunshine Dress this weekend! The kids were at grandma and grandpa's for night and the husband was playing video games online with his brothers, so it was a perfect time to sew!
