Little Lizard King Beaufort Shorts in Sunny Isle fabric

Today I am showing off the Little Lizard King Beaufort shorts which release on Thursday June 1st!

I did the asymetrical ruffle and hem options! But these have soooooo much range and options!

sizes 12 month - 14 years
flat front, elastic waist
Hem Options:
simple ruffle
Asymmetrical ruffle for an asymmetrical hem
Asymmetrical ruffle for a straight hem

Sewn in the gorgeous Jennifer Paganelli ( fabric from her Sunny Isle collection with Freespirit fabrics

We love these soooooo much! And they are a super quick sew!

(the pattern hack tutorial to make the Kelsey a one piece front (more coverage and faster - is here:

And I was dead in the size 14 hips and only an inch over on waist so I made myself a pair too! Just plain with a small turned hem!

CaliFaye Collection's Klein Dress

It's time for another summer dress!!!! This is the NEW CaliFaye Klein dress! and it is 30% off with the code NEWRELEASE until may 31st!

If you love that loose boho-ish loose and flowy summer vibe - then this is the dress for you!

This dress features side darts, a shaped skirt for a little scoop effect, a low back, and the option to do a bra strap or sewn in strap (I did sewn in)

I used white eyelet fabric (cut up an old bedspread actually ... The fabric was in great shape - but the style of the bedspread ... not so much) and lined the skirt and bodice in SUPER light white cotton

This dress is super cute styled with a cropped denim jacket (and heart sunglasses!)

I'd LOVE to hear some more styling ideas you have as well!

The one Raglan Pattern to RULE them ALLL!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure everyone who sews has a million raglan patetrns in their files... right ?? please tell me I'm not the only one who has been on the quest for THEEEEEEE raglan pattern to rule them all?!

Well, if you have been on the quest - let me tell you about my raglan to rule them all - meet the Hey June Lane Raglan

(moose fabric from True North - retail here)

I looove the hooded banded version and I love the no hood no bands version too! The fit is relaxed but not excess fabric, fitted but not tight and clingy. This is really just the absolute perfect raglan for me! (and I've tried many a pattern!)

As always Hey June has fabulous directions and drafting. I'm sure you've noticed I sew them a fair amount if you read this blog often.

(affiliate links included - if any of my posts inspires you to get a copy of the pattern- I'd love for you to use my affiliate link!)

I did something I was scared of!

I made myself a swimsuit!!!!!  This has been something I've wanted to try for YEARS! but have been sooo scared of that slinky swim fabric! This year - I did it!

I used the free George and Ginger lovesick bralette (get the pattern from their fb group). I added the little loop to the front because it felt too conservative without it ... Please tell me I'm not alone in sometimes feeling bikini's can be conservative ?

I used the SUAT scrundies - boy shorts version for the bottoms. I lined th main parts - so those are not going anywhere when I get in water!

For the top I did add swim elastic to the seam allowance alone the top part of the bra top and a little in the back of the band.

Now my ghost like self is just waiting for summer....

Fun fact: When I took these pics it was -20C outside... and about 5pm when ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the neighbours were getting home (it was the golden hour....) I am pretty sure all my neighbours officially think I'm crazy... This is probably why I have no friends in town lol (except you Tina!)

I made a Popover top - finally. and it is amazing!

This shirt has several view options to it - and a few different ways to do that back pleat, I stitched mine down at the bottom due to being a very much rectangle body shape I have no hips really. so no need to have room for them.

but one of the best parts is the TIDY finishing on the inside! Check out that fully enclosed back yoke, the tidy shoulder seams, french seams, the perfect facing! These details don't take a lot of extra time (maybe an extra 30 mins overall) - but really having the seams all enclosed and tidy adds soooo much to the quality of your finished garment and this pattern has it ALL in the instructions!

I love a pattern whre the finishing and attention to detail is right in the pattern, especially since I sewed this test during a headcold and didn't have to seam rip once!

so if you are looking for an amazing popover style shirt - you need the Williamette! and it is on sale until May 14th with no code needed!

You'll be THIS happy you got to make this popover perfection!

and please do consider using my affiliate link if my pics helped motivate you to buy the pattern :)
